To test your horse with Animal Genetics UK...

All tests are £16 each, inclusive of VAT.

Tests are carried out using a small number (15-30) pulled Mane or Tail hairs.

Mane hair collection kits are sent out free of charge, which include instructions and

collection bags for each horse you wish to test. Multiple tests can be carried from

the same Mane hair sample. After you have taken the sample, simply return the kit to the supplied address along with payment (either cheque, postal order or credit card) and we will carry out the testing and contact you with results.

Instructions: Sample Collection

Collect sample by pulling (not cutting) 20-30 mane or tail hairs with roots attached. It is important that you pull the hairs and confirm that the actual root of the hair is being collected. The root contains the genetic material of your horse that is needed for DNA testing. Therefore, cut hairs do not provide an adequate sample of your horse.
