Bay/Brown Horses

Genetically, a Bay horse is Black-based. It's appearance is modified to Bay due the presence of the Agouti gene, using DNA testing we can determine whether your Bay horse will produce 100% Bay foals, or a mixture of both Bay and Black offspring.

For more information please see the Agouti section.

Other relevant tests:

Since Bay horses are actually Black horses, there is potential that they also carry the hidden recessive Red gene and if bred to other Red carriers could produce Red foals. DNA testing can determine the presence of the recessive Red gene, fore more information, please see the Red Factor section.

All tests charged at £16.
