Egg positioning

The following pictures show differing egg positions at certain stages of the incubation period, as a general rule an egg laid on its side on the sensor pad is the normal position for most of the incubation period, however at or near the internal pip/hatch period different egg positions may be required to get a satisfactory read out.

Egg positioning during normal incubation period, egg is laid on its side, rolling the egg through 90º in the early stages may be required to get a good read out.

At or near internal pip the egg is placed airspace down and the top of the egg is pointed 45º away from the emitter. This presents the internal membrane to the sensor.

For very small eggs it is recommended that these be placed nose down or airspace down to ensure a correct seal is made on the sensor pad.
